Local-first boundary

Launch terms

Terms

These terms describe the current launch product in practical language. Use PrivateLocalPDF only with files you have the right to process, and review the limits before relying on an exported packet.

No upload for core tools

Supported PDFs, PNGs, and JPGs are opened and processed in the browser workflow.

No account for free basics

Start basic local import, page edits, and exports without a PrivateLocalPDF login.

No watermark

Basic local PDF exports are not branded or held behind a watermark.

Checkout stays separate

The Local License handoff uses license metadata, not PDF bytes or document-derived data.

Free basics

  • Basic browser-local import, page edits, visual overlays, local export, and watermark-free PDF downloads are available without a PrivateLocalPDF account.
  • Very large files, encrypted PDFs, unsupported image types, browser memory limits, and failed compression targets can prevent a successful local export.
  • The product may change as launch QA, privacy review, and product review tighten the verified behavior.

Local License

The paid launch option is a one-time Local License for higher browser-local limits and batch workflows where those limits are implemented. It is not a subscription.

The Local License does not include OCR, AI cleanup, optional upload or server processing, cloud storage, third-party provider costs, variable-cost services, certified e-signature workflows, or compliance guarantees by default.

Document and signing limits

  • Visual signature, text, and checkmark overlays are convenience tools for everyday packets. They are not certificate-backed digital signatures, identity verification, or legal advice.
  • Metadata cleanup and flattening are not redaction and do not guarantee removal of hidden PDF content.
  • Compression attempts can fail or produce a larger file. PrivateLocalPDF should not promise a specific target size or quality level for every PDF.

Checkout and license restore

Stripe Checkout handles payment for the Local License. Checkout data should be limited to plan, amount, currency, cadence, entry point, surface, timestamp, and related provider metadata. Do not put document contents into checkout, support, or license restore flows.

Acceptable use

Do not use PrivateLocalPDF to process files you are not allowed to use, to misrepresent documents, to bypass security controls, or to create unlawful or harmful submissions. You are responsible for checking the exported PDF before sharing it.
