Compress PDF Locally
Choose a smaller export target when the local packet builder can repack the PDF without pretending every file can shrink.
Local processing boundary
Compression reports clearly when a target cannot be reached locally.
Free basics do not require an account and exported PDFs are not watermarked. Larger local packets and batch workflows may require the one-time Local License and still depend on browser limits.
How it works locally
- Open or build a PDF packet in the browser workspace.
- Choose Original fidelity or a smaller local compression target.
- Download the result, or use the clear failure message when the target is not locally reachable.
Good for
- Email attachment limits
- Portal upload size caps
- Lightweight scan packets
- Form bundles
Limits to know
- The local compression pass repacks PDF structure but does not downsample embedded images.
- Some PDFs are already compressed and may not get smaller in the browser.
- OCR, AI optimization, cloud compression, and provider-cost services are not bundled unless explicitly labeled.
